Salmon with maple syrup and ginger

What you need

1 salmon filet (1 kilo)
½ cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons fresh ginger
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (or lime)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
½ teaspoon / teaspoon coarse pepper
Salt to taste

Preparation

  •  Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
  •  In a bowl, combine maple syrup, ginger, lemon juice, soy sauce, salt and pepper
  •  Place salmon skin down in a dish and cover with the mixture. Refrigerate for 15 minutes, and turn the salmon to marinate the other side for another 15 minutes
  •  Place on waxed paper
  •  Bake for 15 minutes and baste the fish with the sauce – cook for another 5 to 10 minutes.

Serve with a Chablis or other dry white wine
